My creative side did get some of it’s satisfaction from the hardest job I could have ever done – rescuing dogs. For over two decades, I helped rescue, rehabilitate and rehome over 4000 dogs. That required creative thinking, problem-solving and was an experience that can never be forgotten.
Throughout my life I’ve tinkered with art, music, writing and making stuff. I always feel happiest when I’m creating something. However, I’ve always looked at other artists and creators who are so much better and thought that I can’t possibly belong in that world.
Then I realised that it isn’t really up to me whether I belong. After all, none of us are perfect. I don’t get to decide if I belong, all I can do is embrace the process of creating and put it out into the world.
Each creation is like a child and when you put it out there, it’s like sending them off to school for the first time. A nerve-wracking mixture of emotions as you wonder how they will fare alongside all those other artwork children being sent out into the big wide world.
I stumbled upon jewellery making quite by accident and ended up stumbling on a style I adore simply by experimenting with materials.
So, when you look through the site, I hope you’ll love looking at the pieces just as much as I enjoyed creating them.
