Gold and silver often steal the spotlight, but bronze is a stunning material in it’s own right. Bronze has rich and earthy tones that bask in the glow of history.
Bronze is a metal that has real historic resonance, conjuring images of ancient civilisations and their artistic creations.

Bronze may not always take centre stage, but that doesn’t diminish its allure. When you hold a bronze piece in your hands, you’re not just holding jewellery; you’re holding a tangible connection to our ancestors. Throughout history, bronze has been used to create sculptures, weapons, and jewellery, symbolising strength, resilience, and artistic excellence.

Bronze also has significant spiritual meaning. It has been associated with protection, grounding, and balance. The appeal of Bronze lies in its simplicity, the warmth it exudes, and it’s rustic charm.
Bronze vs. Rose Gold
Rose Gold has become incredibly popular, and is something of the ‘it’ material.
Ironically, the special feature of Gold – the fact it will not tarnish – is rather diluted in Rose Gold. Rose Gold is an alloy of Gold and Copper, and will tarnish.
Because Gold is celebrated for it’s lack of tarnish, discolouration of Rose Gold is seen as a flaw; a compromise you have to make to get that unique colour and shine.
Bronze is an alloy of Tin and Copper.
When beautifully polished and waxed, Bronze is just as beautiful as any other precious metal, but is a fraction of the cost.
When we think of Bronze, we often think of that darkish reddy brown colour seen on statues, medals, and historical monuments. As it ages, bronze develops a natural patina that adds character and depth to the metal, enhancing its aesthetic appeal. This transformation over time is not considered a flaw but rather a distinct feature of bronze jewellery.
With Bronze, you have options; you can use various methods to help stop the tarnishing of Bronze, or you can embrace it… and everything in between!
You can highly polish some parts, and let others discolour and change. Each piece will uniquely age however you want them to.
The Cost Factor]
One notable aspect where bronze truly shines is its affordability. As a metal alloy primarily composed of copper and tin, bronze doesn’t carry the hefty price tag associated with gold, including rose gold. This makes bronze an excellent choice for those who appreciate the beauty of copper-based alloys but don’t want to break the bank.
Whilst the historical jewellery that grabs the headlines are Gold, our ancestors used Bronze on a day to day basis for everything from tools to decoration. Bronze was the metal of the people. It was an amalgam of tin and copper that gave a warm, beautiful golden shine when buffed and polished, but remained in the ground, ready to be discovered and celebrated for thousands of years.
Although the Bronze jewellery I make isn’t expensive, it doesn’t mean it’s cheap.
